June 6, A Historic Day for VOC

History was made on Day 2 of the BC Provincial High School Championships, as Arjan Biring captured gold in the Grade 8 Boys 100m Hurdles with a record-breaking time of 14.46 seconds — a remarkable achievement that marks a new chapter in our history.

His performance set a new BC Provincial High School record in the event; a milestone achieved with all hurdle records now completed under the voc logo.

Why is this moment Historic?

Because With this accomplishment, VOC now holds all three BC Provincial sprint hurdles records:

Grade 8 Boys 100mH, Arjan Biring, 14.46, 2025

Junior Boys: 100mH, Thomas Ma, 13.79, 2019

Senior Boys : 110mH, Anastas Eliopoulos,13.63, 2017

Junior Boys: Thomas Ma Provincials Record Holder in 300mH with 39.26, and later crowned Canadian National Legion 400mH Champion.

Eliopoulos didn’t stop at provincials success.

After winning Canadian Junior Champion title, he went on to set the Canadian Junior National Record in 110mH with a time of 13.36 and earned Silver medal at the Pan-Am Junior Champioships, putting VOC on the National and International map.

This milestone is a testament to the dedication, discipline, and excellence of our athletes and coaches.
