It is with profound sorrow that we share the heartbreaking news of the tragic boating accident that claimed the life of one of our cherished JD members, 10-year-old Lionel Hall.
All of us at Vancouver Olympic Club are devastated by this immense loss.
Lionel joined the VOC Rascal’s program in 2021, and from the very beginning, he shone brightly.
He was a truly special child, hardworking, kind, curious, and full of potential.
An angel in every sense, Lionel brought light, laughter, and love wherever he went.
His passion for learning and his determination to grow inspired all of us.
His passing is a tremendous loss not only for his family but also for his school, his teammates, and our entire VOC community.
The pain of this tragedy is immeasurable, and it’s impossible to understand why someone so young, with so much promise, was taken from us so soon.
Lionel will forever be remembered. His presence, enthusiasm, and joyful spirit have left an indelible mark on our hearts.
Though words can never truly capture the depth of our grief, we take comfort in the memories we hold and in the legacy he leaves behind.
We extend our deepest condolences to Lionel’s family and to all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
